AYOMIDE
Triple tragedy. Ayomide's grandmother has died. On top of that, Hurricane Sandy has toppled the iconic sign at the local City Island Lobster House, and images of the Sandy Hook shooting have dominated the television for the past 10 days. Ayomide just wants to forget about it all.
Enter Yemoja
When Ayomide accidentally shatters his family's memory jug and abandons his mother on the public bus, Yemoja, goddess of water and motherhood, warns that he must apologize to his mom before Christmas morning... or else.

Disturbed, Defiled, Unburied
As he journeys from The Bronx to Staten Island to find his mother, Ayomide encounters stories about disturbed, defiled, and unburied corpses that teach him respect for his ancestors, both living and dead.
